The fifth vintage of the estate-grown Nebbiolo is a showstopper! The minute you sip this wine, it screams Italian. Hold it up to the light and you’ll see a combination of copper, brick, and garnet tones. On the nose, there is a lovely hint of potpourri, Italian spices, and, believe it or not, a touch of the dried strawberry you find in Special K cereal. On the palate, we immediately sense notes of bramble – raspberry, strawberry, a bit of bright cherry, and a slight hint of funkiness. The bright acidity and the tannin are revealed on the finish, where they evolve with a comfortable softness. Pair this wine with lamb ragout, pork sausage, duck, charcuterie. Feeling adventurous? Try it with North African shakshuka. Look for cheeses like burrata, full-fat feta, soft triple-cream cheese varieties, Manchego, Pecorino. Use sage, tarragon, black pepper, rose hip, coriander, and fennel as you cook, and serve with roasted garlic, shallot, truffles. The wine is truly unique and impressive. Enjoy now through 2030.
